Professor in modern history at Nord University, Bodø. His interests have been focused on modernization processes in a broad sense. Consequently, economical, political, social and cultural topics of societal change have been part of his research, such as urbanization, and urban planning, the growth of social and political movements, and identity building and regionalism.
