Gisle Jakhelln (1942) is senior architect and partner in BOARCH arkitekter a.s, Bodö, Norway. He qualified as architect 1964 at NTH, Trondheim, Norway.

His field of work is general architectural work from housing to hospitals, town planning, rehabilitation and reconstruction of historical buildings, with special knowledge on early timber buildings.

He has given many lectures on architecture and architectural history. He has written numerous articles.

Board member 1989-1985 and Chairman 1983-1988 of the National Trust of Norway (Fortidsminneforeningen). President Nordland 1995-1996.  Honorary badge 1998. In charge of Antikvarisk utvalg, Nordland avdeling.

Board member of ICOMOS Norway (International Committee on Monuments and Sites) 1997-2021, President 2008-2010. Honorary Member and Expert Member of ICOMOS CIAV International (International Committee on Vernacular Architecture), President 2011-2010, voting member from Norway 2006-2021. He was member of ICOMOS Advisory Committee 2008-2010, Vice President 2012-2015.
