The seminar "Climate knowledge, historic buildings and environment" is held in Stormen library and live stream on 29.11.2023. The seminar aims to introduce the approach of different fields to discuss the synergies of heritage buildings and new architecture. Achieving climate goals and the targets of building energy efficiency has raised a series of intriguing questions that require agreement - how to value existing buildings and materials as a resource, how to improve their energy efficiency without damaging architectural values, how to use and reuse buildings and valuable details, what kind of climate wisdom is embedded in historic buildings. Heritage experts, architects, scientists and practitioners from Norway and Estonia exchange experiences.
The seminar is held in cooperation with Bodø kommune, National Trust of Norway, ICOMOS Estonia, ICOMOS Norway, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Rintala Eggertsson Architects, Urban Mark Architects, Centre of the Sustainable Renovation of Estonia, NTNU Wood, NORDFAR AS, Bodo 2024.
